Murder Board

Book cover for Murder Board (Boston Crime Thriller Book 1) by Brian Shea

Lots of details. Good sense of place-spot on. Highly realistic. But in every other way, just not very good. Not a great writer. Slogged down by the level of detail.

Zero sense of place. Hard read; made no sense. I used to live near where this took place and it was NOT realistic.

Decent pace. Overall quality not that great. Didn’t have depth of character that I like in this genre.

I did not finish it. Repetitive. Like so much I’ve seen and read elsewhere.

I like how the theme of family is played out in lots of different ways in this book.

I got drawn in even though Shea is a bad writer. But it was still fun. It was a “dark cozy.”

Complex plot in which everything was brought back together again. Felt believable.

Way too many details. I didn’t like the cop character–too stereotypical and not interesting. Quick read. I did like the ending.
