Feels SO Japanese. Very representative of the culture. The ending was a breath of fresh air.

Clever without being over the top. Mixed emotions about the writing but could have been the translation. But the writing also seemed to improve more into the book. Pacing was great.

Very slow and kind of boring. Detectives didn’t DO ANYTHING! But–the solution was so clever.

I loved this book. The author changed the way I felt about a protagonist, which is very difficult to do. It was an emotional rollercoaster. Ending was beautifully done.

I loved this book. Reminded me of Tana French, the way it pulled you in. I enjoyed the characters and the cultural aspects of Tokyo. Great twist! Beautiful story.

I really loved this book. Slow, almost stilted conversation felt very Japanese. A joy to read. Very intellectual. Super fun.

I could tell it was well done but it didn’t resonate with me.

I liked the beautiful way the author combined literature and math.
