Took a long time to get into it but the pay off was there!

Good job giving ambience of the culture at that time.

Depiction of the culture really well done.

Suspect pool was very small–I like that kind of mystery!

For a first novel she had me at “Hello!” She made the story really relatable without being too academic. Sense of place really well developed. I liked her relationship with her dad.

I liked it as a novel but not a mystery. Not a lot of detecting. I liked the comparing and contrasting of women, culture and circumstances. Sense of place really well done.

Not much of a mystery but I did enjoy it. More like historical fiction.

Slow but enticing narrative. Loved the atmospere and descriptions, especially about the food!
