I wouldn’t read this if I wasn’t part of this group. Very dark. On the edge of my seat from the violence. No light, no hope. I did enjoy the mystery.
I liked the writing but not the story. Too noir for me. Got lost towards the end with all the murders.
Pretty dark. Hard boiled thrilled and action rather than detecting. Seems cinematic. Seemed like setup for series.
I really liked it. Pretty violent and I usually don’t like dark things. Appreciated that Easy was not a victim. The end felt life affirming. End of story totally confusing.
A little too dark for me.
Slow moving thriller. Movie-like. Following the detective around, but not getting any clues. We were put in Easy’s shows–excellent writing. We got to be along for the moral questioning. Darkness and violence wasn’t graphic to me. It was dark because of the tragedies. End was very confusing. Mystery was “eh.”
Too dark for me. Stopped reading 75 pages in.
