I’ve just finished the second in the Cat Kinsella series and can’t wait for the next one to be published! Stone Cold Heart was just released so I have quite a wait–but don’t you wait to start reading this excellent series.
The series revolves around Detective Cat Kinsella. But it’s more than a police procedural. In the first novel, Sweet Little Lies, we get lots of background on Cat’s family and how her Dad might be tied to a cold case. Stone Cold Heart, the second in series, follows the loose ends of the first entry, adds a new murder for Cat’s police colleagues (complete with well fleshed out suspects), and ends with a heck of a cliff hanger.
Totally engaging novels, with a likable, complex female lead. Secondary characters are well drawn and the mysteries are believable and well written. There is a romance, often poorly done in mysteries–but Caz Frear writes a convincing and complicated relationship for Cat.
