An Expert in Murder

I like the setting and time and the openness to possibilities of change re: class and station. I liked learning about the theater world in that time.

I enjoyed the mystery and I also liked that it happened right away!

Book was much more serious than I expected; not a cozy!

I liked the discussion of the after effects of the war and how it impacted individuals.

It felt like a chapter was missing. We’re thrown into these relationships as if we should know something about them.

The time and place was captured really well. The mystery was substantive.

I got lost in all the characters.

Too many coincidences.

Too many characters, too hard to keep track. I stopped caring about all of them.

Too many characters; too many details to keep track of the confusing relationships.

I was totally hooked at first but then we were thrown into the theater world and there were too many characters. It was hard to relate to Josephine–why was she a part of it (the historical/fiction character)?
