Bachelor Girl’s Guide to Murder
By Rachel McMillan
I liked the clues sprinkled throughout; too much romance. Footnotes cute more then clever. More depth needed. Ending far-fetched.
Light. Romance was enjoyable. Mystery was forgettable. Liked all the characters. Some problems with historic parts. Not well incorporated.
Romance more fleshed out than mystery. Too much “Sherlock.” Found Merinda annoying. Liked character development.
More romance than mystery. Easy read. OK.
Had a hard time getting into the writing. Good idea but just didn’t like this author’s writing. Felt sexist-women characters were two dimensional.
Way too much on the romance. Miranda like a spoiled rich kid. Really unpleasant.
Mixed feelings-I liked the writing style. Appropriate to the time. I loved the setting. The plot was all over the place, though. And points of view bounced around too much.
When I wasn’t bored I was irritated.
Chicklit. Once I realized it was chick lit I could just go with it. Mystery took the back seat to romance.
