I liked it as a book but not so much as a mystery. Liked the pace and sense of place. Great characters and dialogue, especially the main character. Had a hard time grappling with the mystery.

Characters very Italian! Hated the back and forth of the time line. Mystery was pretty solid. Pacing really good.

A little predictable. Fast read and translation was well done.

Pretty good, but a bit unrealistic. Very topical. Great story. Not much a mystery. Past/present split jarring.

Really disliked the back and forth of time. Sense of place was excellent.

Slow burn; intially hard to get into. Very sweet showing the world of the children and how they managed.

Writing was good and translation great. But we had every possible trope thrown in!

Great form of escapsim because you could really put yourself into it. The back and forth was hard. More of a “creepy unfolding” than a mystery.

Creepy. Had to stop reading. Translation was excellent.

Liked the description of the setting. Not much of a mystery.
