I enjoyed it as a more realistic cop piece.

I appreciated the realistic portrayal of race.

It kept me guessing; well written.

Very intense book. The ending was insane!

Forensics were good but the ending was a stretch.

I had to finish it to know what happened!

Detective makes lots of negative assumptions about everyone in the beginning.

Brutal.

Dark.

Typical gritty detective story. I liked the perspective of a black female detective.

The cold case was much more intense than the current mystery.

Crazy scene at the end!

Book felt very much like a first in series.

Dialogue was great. Realistic setting.

Exciting rush at the end!
