I hated it. Couldn’t get past the molestation of the bodies in the morgue. Hated the macho male character(s) and how much he talked about his penis. The ending was garbage.

I liked the procedural aspect of the book. Femme fatale didn’t add anything. Did like PI Michael. Liked the connections he had to his dog and dealing with his death. Fit the noir genre. Gritty, urban, grim view of humanity.

We can see the failure of a detective, falling into violence and vigilantism. Author trying too hard to shock audience. Was able to go along with everything until he kills the perp.

I can see that he can write but I did not like his choices.

I did not like it. Too many ideas, too many loose threads, too many villains, and too many characters. I liked the characters that worked with him. Too much not well written. The end was a shock. No sense of place.

I liked the cast of characters. I didn’t mind the violence.
