PNA Book Swap

Many thanks to the  folks at the Phinney Neighborhood Association for again hosting the best book swap!  Huge bonus that it’s held in Phinney Neighborhood Center (yes, the blue one, upper level).

I just learned today that the book swap is approximately 25 years old; it started with the mystery book swap, later included sci-fi, and now includes cookbooks and children’s books.  It’s a fantastic community event, filled with good feelings, voracious readers, and one of the few “old Seattle” events left that is completely free and not only feels but IS 100% non corporate and local.

As usual, I told myself I would not bring home books.  But of course, after turning mine in to the swap and spending a few hours volunteering, I had to grab a few to take home!  I found an anthology of Christmas mystery short stories (yes, I’m a total sucker for these), A Margaret Truman (who I haven’t read in years) and a book that is on our list for this year (The Woman in  Cabin 10).  I’ll aim to post reviews for all of these.

If you attended the PNA book swap, share what you found, and how long you’ve attended this event.
