I really liked the priests!

Tough subject. I liked the writing and the two priest characters.

Mystery wasn’t complicated. More of a crime novel than a mystery.

I liked the anger of the priests-that they still worked in the system.

No sense of place. Flat characters. Trite plot.

I liked the 3 dimensional depiction of the priests in the Catholic Church.

If you are going to write a mystery with a plot that’s been done a million times before, then your writing better be top notch. This writing was pedestrian at best. The characters were flat, no growth or back story or anything. No sense of place. Predictible. Nothing new here. the only thing mentionable is it’s brief forays into describing the horrors of poverty in the Philipines. and the Catholic church.
