Enjoyable but problematic. I liked the Bellingham setting. Too many things that weren’t realistic. But it was a fun read.

Compelling but long. Clues well telegraphed. The constant switch in narration was interesting.

Easy read. My problem is that I had no sense of what the cult was about and the location was very unclear.

The switching of timeline was very easy to follow. Too long and needed better editing.

Easy to read. But I didn’t connect to Lindsay much. Why was she so intrigued by Marnie?

Incredibly redundant. The feminism was bothersome in that it was about hating men.

If you weren’t familiar with Fairhaven and Bellingham you wouldn’t have a good sense of place. It was entertaining as an easy summer read. I didn’t like the ending.

No real info about the cult. I kept waiting for it and it never came. Angry and disappointed with the ending.

Hard to find a character to care about. The jumping of perspective made it hard to get attached to any character. The end felt rushed and was disappointing.

So many female characters with a really poor audiobook narrator. Problems with editing. Not realistic at all. Marnie’s charisma was not convincing. There was a nugget of a good story that was handled badly.

I abandoned it because I didn’t like the writing.
