Summary:

Roger Ackroyd was a man who knew too much. He knew the woman he loved had poisoned her first husband. He knew someone was blackmailing her – and now he knew she had taken her own life with a drug overdose. Soon the evening post would let him know who the mystery blackmailer was. But Ackroyd was dead before he’d finished reading it – stabbed through the neck where he sat in the study. [summary from https://www.agathachristie.com/stories/the-murder-of-roger-ackroyd]

I just love Poirot. And I love the setting–the image of him growing vegetable marrows!

Everyone had something to hide–classic Christie.

Read it long ago and forgot it! It was a clean, pleasant, wonderful read.

Love Christie. So easy to read, loved the brother/sister relationship.

Classic Christie.

Liked the setting. Reading it again was like a visit with an old friend.

A real favorite. “Well played.” Fun. Amusing how Poirot describes Hastings!

I enjoyed it. I liked all the little things…and they all had motives, I liked that!

Well written, but not one of my favorite of Christie’s.

The solution was clever, being based around this new technology. I liked this portrayal of Poirot.

Love Agatha. Liked the witty banter.

Didn’t like it at all! We had just read a similar one and I knew right away, couldn’t believe it!

Liked the sister/brother relationship. Liked the love stories.

I love the mah jong scene. Classic Christie. The first Christie I read, and still one of the best in my opinion.
