The setting pulled it through for me and kept me interested.

Confusing to me, especially the names. Like a James Bond mixed with Inspector Gadget.

Felt like two different books. I liked the discussion of Tsarist Russia, but then the melodrama was almost cartoonish.

Okay for the first part, and then downhill from there. Pink Panther type characters.

Language pretty dense (maybe the translation)? Pacing pretty good. Sense of place pretty strong. Myster was average.
