A Share in Death

I didn’t like how Duncan did/didn’t want a part in the investigation. I did like how he was introduced to the other characters. But I had a lot of trouble getting into this book.

I liked the sense of place but had issues with characters–couldn’t keep track of anyone. I didn’t like how Gemma was sidelined.

Slow start. Weird mix of a cozy and procedural. But fun. Astonished that the author is a Texan.

I liked the little nuggets of personality in the characters. Kincaid very conventionally written, falling in love with everyone. The bumbling inspector trope irritating. A fast read.

I enjoyed the Christie-esque aspects of it, but never saw the parts of the murder coming together.

It was really great, I can’t believe the author is from Texas. Really caught the voices and sense of place. I liked the variety of deaths. Intriguing. Good job on relationships, and I cared about the characters.

I like when the author leads you down the wrong path! Characters believable. I liked how Gemma was portrayed as a working mom.

I liked the book and will read the series. I liked the sense of place but jarring to put a cozy and procedural together.

“Tropish” for a mystery. So I had a hard time getting into it. I liked the procedural part. Would have liked more of Gemma. Found the upper class parts irritating and it was hard to keep track of everyone.

I’m anxious to read the next one. There were too many characters.

Blanded out by this one. The characters are not interesting. Mystery was fine but nothing engaging except Gemma.

It was okay but didn’t really grab me. Not a great sense of place. Annoyed me that Kincaid fell for so many women. Is it a cozy, or is a a procedural?

Interested in Gemma and Kincaid. I was able to keep the characters straight. The ending came out of nowhere, I was shocked!

Obviously a first novel but decent. Not too exciting, very Christie-like.

Just okay. Bland. Didn’t really like Kincaid, but liked Gemma. Cozy or procedural? Felt too long for a cozy.
