I liked the creation of the relationships.
I liked the pastiche process. Liked the point of view of this book. Very enjoyable. Sense of place a little loosey-goosey; it could be any New England town.
I liked the books cover more than the book. I did not like Gemma. Uncle Arthur seemed just thrown in. The author didn’t start the series in the right place. I didn’t buy into the cringy romance. End was lacking.
I think Jayne should have been the narrator. Why would people think that Gemma had claims on the magazine? Disappointed in this book.
I found Gemma tiring w/personality traits changing throughout. I liked Jayne, she was a good Watson; she should have been the narrator.
I didn’t expect to like it but I did. Gemma couldn’t help herself-she is who she is. Estrada was a bit of a caricature. Why didn’t Jayne know about Ryan? Liked that we saw Gemma figure it out–not bumble her way through luck alone.
I liked certain details like the shop on Baker St. I liked Jayne.
Was the main character on the autism spectrum? I liked the characters. No surprises. A couple laughs.
I though the main character was neurodivergent and I liked seeing it through this angle. Liked the uncle. Liked the mystery. Love story was intriguing. Estrada was not professional.
I enjoyed it. Loved the small town setting and relationship between Gemma and Jayne. I liked Gemma’s observational skills. Gemma did strike me as neurodivergent.
Gemma and Jayne’s relationship was sweet. I liked that Gemma wasn’t flawless; not too Sherlockian.
